The So-Cal Speed Shop team took this lakester to El Mirage Dry Lake in 1948 and proceeded to set a streamliner class record! This experience was invaluable in regards to fine tuning the tanker before going to Bonneville. Over the next several years, the So-Cal Tanker would go on to set numerous land speed records at Bonneville and would be named the "Most Honored Car in the History of Bonneville".
